Annwyl Deuluoedd,
Mae'r Nadolig yn prysur agosáu! Ac, mae gennym ni ychydig o gorachod drwg yn ein hysgol - wel, a dweud y gwir, mae gennym ni lawer o gorachod bach o gwmpas ein hysgol! Edrychwch lle daethon ni o hyd i'r gorachen bore ma! Roedd y Corachen yn cuddio yn y piano - yn barod i'r plant ymarfer eu cyngherddau Nadolig!
BLYNYDDOEDD 1, 2 & 3
Y Bachgen Bach Gwyrdd
Mwynhaodd ein plant Blwyddyn 1, 2 a 3 eu hamser yn sioe 'Bachgen Bach Gwyrdd' yn Y Barri yn fawr. Roedd hwn yn achlysur mor gyffrous i'r plant oedd yn ymweld â'r theatr. Ond, yr hyn sydd hyd yn oed yn fwy cyffrous i ni yw eu bod yn dysgu mwy am oddefgarwch o bobl sy'n wahanol a sut mae amrywiaeth yn ein gwneud ni'n gyfoethocach fel cymdeithas.
BLYNYDDOEDD 4, 5 & 6
Sioe Nadolig Theatr y Congress
Mae wedi bod mor anhygoel gallu mynd i berfformio mewn theatr go iawn! Ddoe, roedd y plant wedi synnu pan gyrhaeddon nhw i berfformio ar y llwyfan! Maent wedi gwneud mor dda wrth ddysgu geiriau, symudiadau dawns a'u holl rannau ar gyfer y sioe. Rydyn ni mor ddiolchgar bod cymaint wedi gallu dod i weld y sioe - a dwi'n gwybod, fel fi, byddech chi wedi mwynhau yn aruthrol.
Hoffwn ddiolch yn bersonol i'r staff sydd wedi trefnu'r sioe hon i'r plant. Mae'n dasg anodd iawn ysgrifennu a threfnu drama. Mae’r staff wedi gweithio’n ddiflino i roi’r cyfle hwn i’r plant roi drama ymlaen ar ôl blynyddoedd o fethu â pherfformio o flaen cynulleidfa. Pan fyddaf yn meddwl yn ôl i fideo digidol y llynedd ac rwy'n edrych ar yr hyn yr ydym wedi gallu ei gyflawni - gyda'n gilydd - eleni, rwyf mor falch o ymdrechion pawb.

Sefydlu Canolfan Iaith Gymraeg Newydd
Fel awdurdod lleol, mae Torfaen wedi cael y dasg o sefydlu canolfan drochi iaith Gymraeg newydd. Mae unedau darpariaeth drochi hwyr yn helpu dysgwyr sy’n dechrau addysg cyfrwng Cymraeg yn ddiweddarach (fel arfer ar ôl saith oed) a disgyblion nad oedd y Gymraeg efallai’n rhan o’u trefn feunyddiol, i ennill y sgiliau a’r hyder sydd eu hangen i barhau â’u dysgu trwy Cymraeg. Yn gyffredinol, bydd plant yn ymuno â’r uned am gyfnod dysgu dwys o tua 12 wythnos cyn mynd trwy gyfnod o integreiddio a phontio i leoliadau prif ffrwd cyfrwng Cymraeg. Ar hyn o bryd, nid oes gan Dorfaen ddull systematig a strategol o ganiatáu mynediad hwyr i addysg cyfrwng Cymraeg i ddarpariaeth. Mae'r Cyngor wedi ymrwymo i chwilio am gyfleoedd a goresgyn heriau i hyrwyddo sgiliau iaith Gymraeg a chefnogi dwyieithrwydd mewn amgylchedd cadarnhaol a ategir gan egwyddorion cynhwysiant a chyfle cyfartal. Mae, felly, yn rhan o Gynllun Strategol Addysg Gymraeg Torfaen (WESP). Bydd yn cyfrannu at y nod o gyrraedd miliwn o siaradwyr Cymraeg erbyn 2050, a chynyddu defnydd dyddiol o’n hiaith. Mae’r weledigaeth i ehangu’r rhaglen drochi disgyblion yn ymrwymiad maniffesto ac yn rhan o Raglen Lywodraethu Llywodraeth Cymru.
Rwy’n falch o gyhoeddi y bydd Ysgol Panteg yn cynnal y ganolfan iaith newydd hon a bydd yn cael ei galw’n ‘Carreg Lam’. ‘Carreg Lam’ yw’r ymadrodd Cymraeg sy’n golygu ‘stepping stone’. Dyma fydd enw’r uned sy’n cael ei sefydlu i gyflwyno cwricwlwm pwrpasol i hwyrddyfodiaid i addysg Gymraeg. Bydd yr canolfan yn gallu cynnal uchafswm o 12 disgybl gyda mynediad bob tymor. Bydd yn rhedeg ar gyfer disgyblion o Flwyddyn 2 i Flwyddyn 6.
Ar hyn o bryd rydym yn hysbysebu am arweinydd ac am gynorthwyydd addysgu! Dyma'r dolenni i'r hysbysebion! Rwyf hefyd wedi atodi'r hysbysebion â'r e -bost hwn!
Christmas is rapidly approaching us! And, we have a little naughty elf at our school - well, in fact, we have a lot of little elves around our school! Look where we found the elf this morning! The elf was hiding in the piano - ready for the children to practice their Christmas concerts!
YEARS 1, 2 & 3
Y Bachgen Bach Gwyrdd
Our Year 1, 2 and 3 children really enjoyed their time at the 'Bachgen Bach Gwyrdd' show in Barry. This was such an exciting time for the children visiting the theatre. But, what is even more exciting for us is that they were learning more about tolerance of people who are different and how diversity makes us richer as a society.
YEARS 4, 5 & 6
Congress Theatre Christmas Show
It has been so amazing to be able to go to perform in a real theatre! Yesterday, the children were truly in awe when the arrived to perform on the stage! They have done so well in learning words and lyrics, dance moves and all their parts for the show. We are so grateful that so many were able to come to see the show - and I know, like me you would have enjoyed it immensely.
I'd like to thank the staff personally who have organised this show for the children. It is a really hard task to write and organise a play. The staff have worked tirelessly to give the children this opportunity of putting on a play after years of not being able to perform in front of an audience. When I think back to last year's digital video and I look at what we've been able to achieve - together - this year, I am so proud of everyone's efforts.

Establishing a New Welsh Language Centre
As a Local Authority, Torfaen has been tasked with setting up a new Welsh language immersion centre. Late immersion provision units help learners entering Welsh-medium education at a later stage (typically after the age of seven) and pupils for whom Welsh may not have been part of their daily routine, to gain the skills and confidence needed to continue their learning through Welsh. Children generally will join the unit for an intense learning period of approximately 12 weeks before then undergoing a period of transitioned integration into Welsh-language main stream settings. Currently, Torfaen does not a have a systematic and strategic method of allowing late-comers to Welsh-medium education access to provision. The Council is committed to seeking opportunities and overcoming challenges to promote Welsh language skills and support bilingualism in a positive environment underpinned by the principles of inclusion and equal opportunity. It is, therefore, part of Torfaen’s Welsh Education Strategic Plan (WESP). It will contribute towards the aim of reaching one million Welsh speakers by 2050, and increasing the daily use of our language. The vision to expand the pupil immersion programme is a manifesto commitment and part of the Welsh Government’s Programme for Government.
I am proud to announce that Ysgol Panteg will be hosting this new language centre and it will be called ‘Carreg Lam’. Carreg Lam’ is the Welsh phrase meaning ‘stepping stone’. This will be the name of the unit that is being established to deliver a bespoke curriculum to late-comers to Welsh education. It will be able to hold a maximum of 12 pupils with admission on a termly basis. It will run for pupils from Year 2 to Year 6.
